Parent killed in UJ registration stampede results in Registrations being Suspended (Video)

 

The Parent of a hopeful student who’s identity is Unknown has been killed at University of Johannesburg Bunting Road campus in Auckland Park on Tuesday morning.

The situation unfolded as the gates were opened to let some applicants through and suddenly a large group of Students and Parents forced through the gates probably due to frustration, keeping in Mind that Parents and students have been queing for a Spot in the University since 04H00 on tuesday morning.

This is a direct result of the Governments decision to Release the results in January leading students who previously thought that they had not qualified to rush to Universities in order not to miss the late deadlines.
It’s been Reported that there were over 10,000 Hopefull applicants at the University of Johannesburg.

The University has Suspended all Further Registrations until Further Notice.
